Award-winning ‘Aging with Vitality’ Mini-Medical School series is back by popular demand

SOLANO COUNTY – The Senior Coalition of Solano County will host a free dynamic mini-medical school series called "aging with vitality," focused on helping older adults embrace the dynamic nature of aging.  The four-day mini-series takes place on March 18th, 25th, and April 1st and 8th from 9:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army KROC Center, 586 E. Wigeon Way in Suisun City.

Now in its fourth year, the award-winning series will feature local physicians and specialists from Sutter Health, NorthBay Health Care, Kaiser Permanente, Touro University, Creekside Hearing and Yolo Hospice speaking about health and aging, and how to age with vitality.

Topics include, but are not limited to keeping your heart healthy, recognizing the risks of stroke and how to prevent them, maintaining healthy bones, joints and muscles, minimizing one's risk of chronic disease, medication management, hearing loss, Becoming Mortal documentary and end of life legal and medical considerations, hospice and making one’s final preparations.

“The Mini-Medical School is in high demand,” says Rochelle Sherlock, consultant to the Solano County Senior Coalition. “The presenters provide information and recommendations based on current medical science, they are dynamic and engaging... and people are changing their lives and seeing tremendous benefits as a result.  Plus, the series is fun!”

A free morning snack and lunch will be provided, and free transportation is available from Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Suisun, and Vallejo.
