Sponsorship dollars available for fundraising training opportunity for County’s not-for-profit leaders

July 12, 2017

SOLANO COUNTY – Leaders in the nonprofit sector who provide services in Solano County are invited to apply for a sponsorship opportunity to attend a four-month educational training program at the UC Berkeley Extension to expand their knowledge of fundraising and volunteer management.

The training opportunity is designed specifically for nonprofit leaders to increase their expertise in raising funds, garnering community support, recruiting and retaining volunteers and board members, and increasing fundraising skills, including grant-writing and maintaining funder relationships.

The program, sponsored by a generous grant from Zellerbach Family Foundation with additional funding provided by First 5 Solano and Solano County Health & Social Services, covers the $1,950 cost of the course for each attendee.

Participants must attend four all-day sessions in Fairfield during the fall of 2017, including the completion of coursework prior to and between class sessions.  Participants follow up with Solano County six months following the conclusion of the program to report on outcomes.

An optional information session will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at 601 Texas St, Conference Room B.  Applications are due to First 5 Solano by 5pm, August 9, 2017.
