Solano Emergency Medical Services Cooperative Board seeks candidates to fill board member position

SOLANO COUNTY – The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Agency is accepting applications to fill the Health Care Consumer Representative seat within the Solano Emergency Medical Services Cooperative (SEMSC) Board. The agency is accepting applications through Friday, January 18, 2019.

The Cooperative aims to deliver effective pre-hospital care at a reasonable cost to the people of Solano County by coordinating and maximizing resources.

The SEMSC Board consists of seven voting members and is chaired by the County Administrative Officer. Additionally, a Fire Chief, City Manager, one physician, two hospital representatives, and the vacant Health Care Consumer Representative position comprise the board membership.

Regular board meetings are held quarterly on the second Thursday of the month at the Suisun City Council Chambers.

To be qualified for the position of Healthcare Consumer Representative, the candidate must be knowledgeable in pre-hospital emergency medical care issues, and be willing to represent the interests of Solano County consumers in achieving high quality and efficient pre-hospital emergency medical care. This board seat serves on a volunteer basis.
