On June 1, 2019, the CalFresh program was expanded to SSI/SSP recipients to receive food benefits on an EBT card.   Most SSI/SSP recipients and couples living on their own may be eligible for CalFresh while continuing to receive their SSI/SSP income from Social Security. • There is NO CHANGE or reduction to SSI/SSP amounts.
• Food benefits are issued monthly on an easy-to-use Electronic Benefit Transfer card.
• Recipients can buy food at any grocery store or farmers market that accepts EBT.
• CalFresh Food benefits can stretch food budgets and provide more healthy choices.
