Mary Heath


Mary Heath began her career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2013 as an Accounting Technician assigned to payroll and a member of the budget team. During her time in payroll, she helped implement the County-wide electronic timecard roll out and dynamic scheduler. She was selected as Employee of the Year in 2015. Mary became an entry level dispatcher in 2016 and rejoined the Sheriff’s budget team as an Accountant assigned to manage the OES grants and Emergency Services budgets in 2018. Mary was promoted to her current position as an Emergency Services Coordinator II in 2022. Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office Mary worked for 10 years in corporate finance.

Mary graduated summa cum laude from Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Criminal Justice in 2012 and she earned a Master of Public Administration from Walden University in 2017. She has a passion for knowledge and again graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science in Emergency Management in 2020.

Jenny Novelli

Jenny Novelli joined the Office of Emergency Services team in 2022 as an Emergency Services Coordinator II. She graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. After completing an internship at the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, Jenny served an AmeriCorps term under the American Red Cross where she was deployed to the 2017 North Bay Wildfires. In 2018, she started as an Emergency Management Specialist and was eventually promoted to Interim Deputy Director Homeland Security Emergency Management in 2021 at UCSF Police Department where she worked through various planned and unplanned events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Wildfire Smoke, Public Safety Power Shut-offs and civil unrest.
