Health Promotion & Community Wellness

Our Philosophy

Public Health Education strives for a vibrant, healthy community. We believe in partnering with local residents to create healthy communities. We envision an equitable Solano County that respects and honors its diversity and offers a high quality of life. We envision neighborhoods that are equitable, healthy, livable, walkable, bikeable and safe. We work to prevent needless injuries, disabilities and premature deaths.

The Health Promotion and Community Wellness Bureau was formed in 1994 to assess, plan, implement and evaluate effective health promotion and education programs and initiatives. We work extensively with community partners and coalitions to help mobilize communities. While we provide many services to individuals and groups, we focus our efforts on advocacy, system changes, and advancing healthy public policies to maximize the positive impact on populations within our community. We support healthy people and healthy places!
