County selected to join the Safety and Justice Challenge IMPACT Network focused on reducing over-incarceration of individuals with behavioral health needs
March 28, 2023  SOLANO COUNTY –– County officials are pleased to announce that Solano County has been selected to join the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation's Safety and Justice Challenge: IMPACT Network. The national initiative is aimed at leveraging behavioral health strategies to reduce over-incarceration of individuals with behavioral health needs and eliminating racial inequities that persist in the local criminal justice system. Solano County will be participating starting March 24, 2023 through December 2024.

Solano County improves in tobacco policies; more needs to be done

Board celebrates two-year anniversary of the ARPA law by highlighting investments made in the community
March 9, 2023  SOLANO COUNTY – This Saturday marks the second anniversary of the passage of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), and after nearly two years of careful deliberation, the Solano County Board of Supervisors is pleased to announce the full allocation of the $86.9 million received in ARPA funding through strategic investments in more than 50 projects within the community. The Board's investments of federal ARPA dollars will help ensure that all Solano County residents experience a fair and equitable recovery from the COVID-19 global pandemic health emergency.

Solano Public Health receives grant for car seat safety education program
November 8, 2022  SOLANO COUNTY – The Solano County Department of Health and Social Services, Public Health division, is excited to announce receipt of a $125,000 grant award from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to expand its popular car seat safety education program. In addition to supporting local parents and caregivers to learn proper car seat safety installation and utilization, the increased funding from the OTS grant over the next twelve months will allow the program to expand its virtual reach.
