SOLANO COUNTY- The Solano County Department of Health and Social Services, Public Health division, in collaboration with Solano Pride Center, California Health Medical Reserve Corps, Food is Free Solano, La Clínica de La Raza, Medic Ambulance and Solano AIDS Coalition, hosted vaccination clinics on August 5 and 8, 2022 to provide the first dose of the monkeypox vaccine. SOLANO COUNTY- The Solano County Department of Health and Social Services, Public Health division, has confirmed the first human case of West Nile virus (WNV) in Solano County in 2022. The individual is from Vacaville and is currently recovering. As of today, the California Department of Public Health reports that there are seven human cases of WNV this year in the state. More... |

SOLANO COUNTY – The Solano County Agricultural Commissioner has reported that Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) has been detected in wild birds collected in Solano County, including two American White Pelicans and one Mute Swan. HPAI causes severe illness and mortality in infected birds and may spread from populations of wild waterfowl to domestic poultry. More... |

SOLANO COUNTY – The Solano County Department of Child Support Services (DCSS), in recognition of Child Support Awareness Month, will donate 100 back to school ready backpacks, complete with supplies, to the Solano County Office of Education (SCOE) Foster and Homeless Youth Services program. SOLANO COUNTY- The Solano County Department of Health and Social Services, Public Health division, in partnership with the San Jose Mother's Milk Bank and First 5 Solano, announce the opening of the first human milk collection center in Solano County. The grand opening will take place on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 2101 Courage Drive, Fairfield.
