| | | Rio Vista Police DepartmentThe Rio Vista Police Department is a Solano County Sheriff’s Office contract service. We provide a full array of contract law enforcement services to the City of 10,500 residents and a service population of an estimated 100,000 per week. A Sheriff’s Lieutenant is selected and appointed by Sheriff and the City Manager as the Chief of Police. Two Sheriff Sergeants are Rio Vista Police Sergeant/watch commanders supervising nine Deputy Sheriffs who serve as Police Officers on Patrol and one as a School Resource Officer. This specialized team in the Sheriff’s Field Operations Division provides the following services: - Patrol operations
- Traffic investigation and enforcement (Motors available)
- Follow-up investigations in coordination with the Sheriff’s Detective Bureau
- Police K9 Unit
The deputies assigned as Rio Vista Police Officers drive city-owned police cars and wear police uniforms while proudly maintaining any collateral duties with the Sheriff’s Office. These collateral duties, such as SWAT, Mobile Field Force, Crisis Negotiations, Drone Operators, and Peer Support, are incorporated into the value of this Sheriff’s full-service contract.
