Sheriff Ferrara Announces 2023 Citizens’ Academy
The Sheriff’s Office will be holding its first Citizens’ Academy since 2016, and you’re invited to be a part!
Have you ever wanted a behind the scenes look into the Solano County Sheriff’s Office? Maybe you’ve thought about a patrol ride-along, a jail tour, or watching a SWAT demonstration. Are you curious what goes on in dispatch or what our evidence technicians do? Sherff Thomas A. Ferrara is excited to announce, now’s your chance to find out!
The 10-week course will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00-9:00 pm, with two Saturday daytime classes to give students hands-on experiences. Classes will be held at various Sheriff’s Office locations (see syllabus for details). The Citizens’ Academy will begin on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 and an ending graduation ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023.
The goal of the program is to increase understanding between the citizens of Solano County and the Sheriff’s Office, to build a connection, and a strong relationship for the future good of our community.
We are confident that our class time instruction and dynamic hands-on scenarios will prove both interesting and exciting. The academy will allow citizens an in-depth look into the many facets of the Sheriff’s Office and an understanding of our commitment to the motto “Dedicate to Community Service.”. Please join us for the special look into YOUR Sheriff’s Office. The class size is limited to 30 participants. Completed applications must be received by Thursday, December 1st, 2022.
