Are you interested in a career in public safety? If you are between the ages 14-20, you may be eligible to become a Sheriff Cadet. Sheriff's Cadets learn the law enforcement career field in a paramilitary environment at both the Sheriff's Office and the Rio Vista Police Department.

Requirements:
Be a minimum of 14 years of age
Pass an interview, written exam and a physical exercise exam
Be enrolled in school and posses a minimum 2.0 GPA
Pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting)
Serve a minimum of 16 hours per month
Attend evening training meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month
