| | | AB 1332: Pre-Approved ADU Program
The Solano County Building Division is now accepting submission of accessory dwelling unit (ADU) plans for pre-approval.
- Anyone may submit ADU plans for pre-approval. Apply online HERE and note “Pre-Approved ADU Program” in the project description. The drawings submitted shall not be site-specific.
- We will review the plans for conformance with the current County-adopted building codes. Contact [email protected] for a pre-approved ADU plan review fee estimate.
- Pre-approved ADU plans will be posted on this website along with the contact information of the applicant. Posting of pre-approved plans shall not be considered an endorsement of the applicant, and pre-approved plans will be removed from this website within 30 days of an applicant’s request for removal.
- Pre-approval expires at the end of the building code cycle (December 31, 2025)
To apply for a site-specific ADU building permit using the Pre-Approved ADU program:
- You may select pre-approved plans from this website once available
- You will still need to provide all site-specific information relating to your project, including:
- A complete and fully-dimensioned site plan. The ADU shall meet all zoning requirements – contact [email protected] with questions.
- Complete site-specific Title 24 energy calculations
- Complete site-specific solar PV drawings
- A site-specific geotechnical report
- Signed and sealed letter from the geotechnical engineer indicating that the foundation drawings meet the recommendations and requirements contained in the geotechnical report.
- Complete Part 1 C&D Waste Management Plan
- Pre-approved ADUs in the State Responsibility Area (SRA) shall meet all fire-resistance requirements of section 337 of the 2022 California Residential Code. Compliance may not necessarily be shown on the pre-approved plans.
- Pre-approved ADUs in a FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area shall be elevated in accordance with section 322 of the 2022 California Residential Code and Chapter 12.2 of the Solano County Code. Compliance may not necessarily be shown on the pre-approved plans.
- Apply online HERE. Once we receive a complete application utilizing pre-approved ADU plans we will approve or deny the application within 30 days.
