The County of Solano provides a basic Life and AD&D insurance plan through VOYA with Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage for all eligible employees. The coverage amount varies by bargaining unit.
Life insurance coverage through VOYA continues through the last day of the month of separation or retirement. Life insurance may be converted to an individual policy with no proof of good health requirement by applying and paying the first premium for an individual policy within 31 days after insurance stops. Supplemental Life Insurance
Employees may purchase supplemental life insurance up to three times the employee’s base yearly earnings to a maximum of $500,000. Employees may also purchase spouse and dependent coverage.
Long Term Disability insurance coverage is available to employees in Mid-Management, Senior Management and Executive Management groups. This is a County paid benefit for full-time employees. The maximum benefit is the lesser of 66.67% of basic salary or $10,000, minus other income.
