Can I vote by mail permanently? All active voters in California will automatically receive a vote by mail ballot for each election. You can verify your voter registration information is up to date here.

Permanent Vote by Mail Request Form Can someone else return/pick up this for me? Yes. Any person may return the ballot on your behalf. Regardless of how the ballot is returned, it MUST be received by any California Registrar of Voters office by 8:00pm on election day, or received by mail within 7 days of the election if postmarked or dated by the voter on or before election day.
For pick-up only the voter may authorize a representative to pick up the ballot. The voter must provide a written request authorizing the pick-up of their vote by mail ballot. The note must be signed by the voter and must include their address, and the name of the person picking up the ballot. There is an application on our website for this purpose.
How can I vote by mail? All registered voters will receive and may vote a VBM ballot. Voters may cast VBM ballots in person in the Elections office during the VBM voting period which begins twenty-nine days before an election and extends until the close of polls on Election Day. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office is open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

To update residence address or other voter registration information, please re-register at registertovote.ca.gov/ or call are office at 707-784-6675 to request a Voter Registration Card be mailed to you.
I did not receive my sample ballot. How can I get one? The sample ballots are now available on the website to view or download here. You can also go into the Fairfield office and pick one up or you could have one mailed or emailed to you by requesting one from [email protected].

I did not receive my state pamphlet. How can I get one? You may obtain the information on the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ca.gov or we can email you a copy by requesting one from [email protected].

I did not receive my vote by mail ballot. How can I get one? If you requested a vote by mail ballot and have not received one, please email our office at [email protected] or give our office a call at 707-784-6675.
I received a vote by mail ballot, but I want to vote at the polls, can I do that? Yes. You can vote a regular ballot at the polls. You can find your assigned polling place here.
I reside overseas or am in the military, can I still vote? Yes, if you are a US citizen and are going to be overseas or if you are in the military and wish to vote by mail, there are special provisions for you to register and receive an overseas absentee/vote-by-mail ballot.
To do this you may need to complete a Federal Post Card Registration and Absentee Ballot Request (FPCA), you can download this application from, www.fvap.gov.

I think I threw away my ballot, can I get another one? Yes, you can call our office anytime to request a replacement ballot during business hours: 707-784-6675. Or you can send an e-mail to: [email protected] and we will work with you to ensure you get a new replacement ballot.
Is there a vote by mail deadline? The deadline to request that a vote by mail ballot be mailed to a voter is seven days prior to the election. Vote by mail ballot requests in the seven days prior to the election must be made in the Fairfield office. Regardless of how the ballot is returned, it MUST be received by any California Registrar of Voters office by 8:00pm on election day, or received by mail within 7 days of the election if postmarked or dated by the voter on or before election day.
