Body Art and Massage Program
  
Body art means body piercing, tattooing, branding, or application of permanent cosmetics. All body art facilities and practitioners operating within Solano County are required to have a valid permit which shall be renewed annually. Facilities that conduct only ear piercing are required to register with Solano County Environmental Health.  

Body Art Applications 
New or remodeled body art facilities are required to submit the Body Art Permit Application, Facility Plan Application or Mobile Facility Plan Application, and a plan check fee prior to beginning construction.

All new body art practitioners are required to submit the Body Art Permit Application and permit fee. For permit renewal, body art practitioners are required to submit the Body Art Practitioner Annual Renewal and annual permit fee. 

For temporary events, sponsors shall submit the Temporary Event Sponsor's Permit Application and fee. Body art practitioners shall submit the Temporary Event Practitioner's Permit Application and fee.

Facilities that conduct only ear piercing are required to submit the Mechanical Stud and Clasp Ear Piercing Registration in addition to the one time registration fee.


Massage Application 
Massage facilities in unincorporated Solano County are required to submit the Massage Registration Form.

Incomplete plans will not be accepted for review. Plan review may take up to 20 business days. Online Payments may be submitted; an invoice or permit number is not required to complete payments.
