Vaccine Eligibility

Anyone age 6 months and above is eligible to get vaccinated.

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have been approved for very young children age 6 months through 4 years of age.

For very young children, Solano County recommends parents and caregivers to reach out to their child's primary care provider to schedule their well-child visits and get their COVID-19 vaccination series, along with the recommended childhood immunizations. For help finding a primary care provider, or getting health insurance, call Help Me Grow Solano at (844) 501-5437 or visit HelpMeGrowSolano.org.

Anyone age 5+ can get their FIRST booster shot, provided they qualify based on timing of the previous dose.
- 5 to 11-year-olds can receive the Pediatric Pfizer-BioNTech booster dose
- 12 to 17-year-olds can receive the Pfizer-BioNTech booster dose
- Pfizer and Moderna recipients may receive a booster 5 months after their second dose
- Johnson & Johnson recipients should receive a booster 2 months after their previous dose

Second booster doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine have been approved for individuals age 50 and up, immunocompromised individuals age 12 and up, and Johnson and Johnson booster recipients who received a primary vaccine and booster dose at least 4 months ago. It is recommended for Johnson and Johnson recipients to receive a mRNA booster dose.
*
People should talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional primary shot is appropriate for them. Visit the CDC list of those eligible
 for an additional booster dose.
