Event Guidance
Solano County Public Health is following guidance from the California Department of Public Health about indoor and outdoor mega events.

Mega events include conventions, shows, nightclubs, concerts, sporting events, theme parks, fairs, festivals, large races, and parades. Mega events do not include venues such as shopping malls or museums that are open to public circulation as part of their regular operations, except to the extent that such venues host qualifying events. Guidance for mega events does not apply to school events that are not open to the general public.

Effective April 1, requirements for vaccine verification or proof of negative test for indoor mega-events will be lifted and move to a strong recommendation. For more information, click

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has released an Events Playbook with best practices and resources that can be used for any type of event. It includes 3 examples of checklists that can be customized for any event.
  • A checklist that can be used to highlight the protective measures they put into place for the event – “What are we doing to create a Safe and SMART Event?”
  • A checklist for attendees – “As an attendee, what should I consider before I attend an event?”
  • A checklist for hosts and operators – “Safe and SMART Quick Reference Event Checklist for Operators”
